In The Lindemann Theory blog, under Stem Cells – Building Strength and Muscles Naturally – The Secrets Unfold, I discussed and elaborated on the topic of stimulation creating mental and physical peaks to become a major component in my cure.
Exercise induced mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) and satellite stem cell activation, epigenetic changes, and the notion that stem cell release to the blood might all be the result of intense training,and contribute to the athlete’s bliss-euphoria or “high” were discussed. There was a list of 16 items, the sweet 16, which should shed light on how exercise can create physiological, bio and neuro-chemical changes to maximize mental and physical performance; my book discusses this as well. If we continue to search the bliss-euphoria of the athlete, and the obvious spill over effect to mental health and my claims we find much – and wonderful news. We first come across a general overview – described here, where we come to understand the exercise induced boost to serotonin, norepinephrine, endorphins and a new molecule, a neurotransmitter called Anandamide. Anandamide was named by Raphael Mechoulam in 1992, and aside from exercise induced increases to promoto motivation and pleasure, evidence exists for inhibition of human breast cancer cell proliferation.
The article describes a blood-brain barrier disconnect, in that a large portion of endorphin release is within the body, unable to cross the blood-brain barrier – this of course is noted, but it is this author’s opinion that the written disconnect, has its own disconnect – that being the body and brain are one, and the former send major feedback to the latter. My point, if large exercise induced endorphin release is within the body, it is still creating bliss there, with feedback to the brain – so we do have quelling of body pains, and bliss bought to the brain. There is no disconnect between the body and the brain – we are ONE! – be all you can be with InfinitE/IQ.

A Harvard study brings more exciting news. Reductions in cortisol and adrenaline are achieved, with endorphin release, as well as other brain chemicals. Of course as discussed in my book, feelings of accomplishment, goals met, pride and joy of a good work-out complement the bio and neurochemical changes. Indeed the Harvard study points out proven antianxiety and antidepressant effects.

Reduce Depression and Anxiety and OCD
The excitement continues as we explore the neurotransmitter serotonin and its precursor tryptophan. Before we delve into an article from the Journal of Psychiatry and Neuroscience, I want to share a recent conversation with a friend that will love this blog, and this exciting new information. An acquaintance/friend of both of ours explained they suffer the winter blues, and become depressed during the winter months. As mentioned prior I will be blogging on the importance of Vitamin D, and its importance in the winter months is paramount in fighting depression – of course we discussed that first. A geographic look at Alaska depression rates should be in order as well – limited sunlight.
Now I can share that indeed postmortem human brain studies do show reduced serotonin levels in winter versus summer deaths. Also, studies were done on venous outflow in the brain of 5-HIAA a serotonin metabolite that showed again higher levels summer versus winter.
How do we increase serotonin in the winter? Vitamin D, light therapy and now this are options. The “this” are InfinitE/IQ’s stimulation component where exercise has been shown to increase both 5-HIAA and tryptophan in lab animal brains – cortex and hippocampus included. My book discusses the hippocampal region in my journey. The exciting part is where we see exercise causing a decrease in the branched chain amino acids leucine, isoleucine and valine, with an increase in plasma tryptophan, and in turn we have more tryptrophan available to the brain. So with exercise more tryptophan to the brain and more serotonin synthesis – better mood. This timeline may indicate a better time to take tryptophan supplements if indicated?
Mr. Simon Young, the author of the journal article does make mention, that the public might very well desire more research on non-drug, natural means to treat depression.
